What it does
Everything a line pilot's logbook needs
- A logbook that fills itselfYour airline's calendar comes in by itself; flown legs get their real times, even from a photo of the ACARS.
- Limits before they biteFAR 117, EASA or your contract, checked as you go, with a what-if for a delay or an added leg.
- Currency by license90-day landings by type, night, checks and medical, with reminders before anything lapses.
- Rest, planned for every layoverWhen to sleep, nap and eat, in local time, from a sleep model validated on airline crews.
- Your radiation dose, flight by flightThe FAA's CARI-7A model on the track you actually flew, with your yearly total against the limits.
- Commuting and the inbound aircraftThe first flight from home that makes report, a backup, and the airplane bringing yours in.
Coming from another logbook app? Your logbook comes across in one step, spreadsheets too. Flying GA or training? Dual, solo, endorsements and 61.57 currency too.

Why count it
In the US, nobody measures your dose for you
Cosmic radiation is ionizing radiation, a known cause of cancer (IARC Group 1). Aircrew receive more of it at work than nuclear plant workers, and no US airline is required to measure it.
Your logbook already holds what it takes. LogAloft works out the dose of every flight, in microsieverts and in chest X-rays, and keeps your record by month, year and career.
Averages per monitored worker, worldwide, 2010–2014 (UNSCEAR 2020/2021 Report, Annex D). One chest X-ray is taken as 0.1 mSv, a routine two-view exam (Mettler et al., Radiology 2008). Doses are estimates for your information, about ±20%, not an official dose record.

Questions
Does it work with my airline's schedule?
Yes, with most: the calendar link or .ics file from your airline's scheduling app, roster PDFs and prints (line sheets, FLICA, Sabre CrewTrac, AIMS), or a screenshot of your crew app (Pro). You can also forward it to your own LogAloft email address. If it can't read yours yet, send it from Import and we'll add it.
Can I bring my logbook from another app?
Yes. Exports from the common pilot logbook apps and flight-tracking apps, and most spreadsheets, come across in one step, and you can check how the columns match before anything is added. If LogAloft can't read your file yet, send it to us from Import and we'll add it.
Which duty rules does it check?
FAR 117 (tables B and C, augmented rest, reserve), EASA and the rules of more than 30 other countries, plus the limits in your contract, which you set yourself. A duty that wouldn't fit shows up before it's flown.
What's free, and what does Pilot Pro add?
Free keeps your first 25 flights or 50 hours, with the dose of every flight, imports, limits and reports. Pilot Pro keeps your whole logbook and adds the live data that costs us money: flown tracks for every flight, gate and delay alerts, commuting options and more. If your free logbook is full, you keep every flight: see, search and export them; to add more, go Pro.
How accurate is the dose?
For a flight with a flown track, the galactic dose is as good as the model behind it, about ±20%, the same class of model airlines and regulators use. Future flights are marked Estimate: the route that flight usually flies, or the one a dispatcher would plan for that day's winds. Tested on 20 real long-haul flights, estimates came within about 10% on average.
Who can see my logbook?
Only you, and anyone you choose to share it with. We never sell it, show your flights to airlines or employers, or use it for advertising. See the privacy policy.
